Refurbishment of Sandstone Townhouse

The project:

This project was a major refurbishment of a sandstone townhouse in Glasgow’s West End. This outstanding property dates back to the 1880s, and required extensive work to create a perfect city dwelling for the family.

The client was in the process of moving to Scotland from the USA, and we were recommended to them by a fellow professional as am experienced contractor, who could be trusted to behave discretely. The client gave the team a detailed brief prior to work commencing.

The scope of works included both exterior and interior repairs and refurbishment. Externally, we completed repairs to the roof, chimneys, stonework and rainwater goods, all in keeping with the property’s status within the conservation area. Internally, the works incorporated kitchen and bathroom replacements, flooring works throughout, and painting and decoration throughout. Electrical, plumbing and heating work was also completed by our in-house team, as well as the installation of a sauna.

A dedicated full time Site Manager oversaw all of the work to ensure that the property’s original features were retained and restored in a sensitive way. The end result was a beautiful new home for a delighted client!

“I cannot express how wonderful the team at Lochlie was in every aspect of our experience with them. We have recommended Lochlie to friends for projects big and small, they can seamlessly handle everything.” – Mrs F, Private Client
