There’s #NoWrongPath: Celebrating Diverse Career Journeys at Lochlie Construction

This week, from the 4th to the 8th of August, marks #NoWrongPathWeek here in Scotland, and the team at Lochlie Construction Group couldn’t be prouder to throw our full support behind this fantastic initiative. As young people across the country receive their exam results and plan their next steps, it’s the perfect time to champion a powerful message: there is no single, straight road to a rewarding career.

The journey is uniquely yours, and every twist, turn, and seeming detour is a valuable part of your story.

The pressure to have it all figured out can be immense, but the reality is that most career paths aren’t a straight line—they are winding roads filled with learning experiences, changes in direction, and unexpected opportunities. #NoWrongPathWeek is dedicated to celebrating this truth and showing everyone that the skills and resilience gained along the way are just as important as the destination.

Our team is passionate about this message, with our very own Managing Director Stuart Aitken, Contracts Manager Cory Mitchell, and Site Manager Derek Gibb proudly showing their support for the #NoWrongPathWeek campaign. They, like all of us at Lochlie, understand that our strength as a company comes from the diverse backgrounds and unique journeys of every member of our team.

To celebrate, we’re excited to spend the week sharing some personal and inspiring career stories from within our own ranks. You’ll get to hear from:

👷‍♂️ Colin Borland: A valued member of our team, Colin joined us as a mature apprentice, proving that it’s never too late to learn a new skill or embark on an exciting new chapter in your career. His story is a brilliant example of lifelong learning and dedication.

🔎 Kirsty Campbell: As our HR Manager, Kirsty has a unique perspective on the many different paths that can lead to a successful career. She’ll be sharing her own professional journey and insights into how varied experiences are valued within our industry.

Join us on our social media channels this week as we explore the diverse, inspiring, and sometimes unexpected paths that lead to success within the construction industry and beyond. Let’s celebrate every journey and remind ourselves that there truly is #NoWrongPath.
