We are a fully streamlined construction services and project management company. We can offer you the full package – from building your house from the ground to wiring and electrics to providing project management advice.

Lochlie Construction was founded in 2014 by father and son Douglas Aitken and David Aitken. Growing up Douglas Aitken dreamed of the Grand Designs process and hoped that, one day, he’d be lucky enough to get involved in that world – making incredible buildings look their best. Fast forward to 2014 and Douglas and David’s company – Lochlie Construction – started doing just that.

Lochlie Construction was named after the farm ‘Lochlie’ where Robert Burns grew up on in Ayr. Which also happens to be where the Aitken family were born and raised.

The team make Lochlie Construction what it is – your contractor of choice. From your very first meeting to that moment you have the keys in the palm of your hand, we are a friendly, knowledgeable, trusted team of experts who get the job done.

Our entire team are hands-on from the builders to the sales team right through to our managing directors. Our team are committed to quality craft, safe working practices, and to continuously improving our business and the service provided to our clients.

Douglas Aitken MBA, MRICS, BA(Hons)


Douglas is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor with over 10 years’ experience in the construction industry, having worked both in the UK and internationally for some of the UK, Middle East and Asia’s largest construction companies.

David Aitken MCIOB, MCMI, APC


David is a Chartered Builder with over 30 years’ experience within the construction industry, having worked for a variety of UK based companies, from small independents up to large scale operations, giving him a wide breadth of knowledge.

Claire McBlain

Business Development Manager

Claire joined the team at Lochlie in 2018, having previously worked with a national housebuilder for 12 years. She is responsible for engaging with current and new clients, and driving the business forward.

Hamasah Fulad

Finance Manager

Hamasah joined us in Summer 2019 as Finance Manager. She brings extensive knowledge to business and is responsible for the financial health of the business – and, of course, making sure the bills are paid!

Robin Bain

Plumbing & Heating Manager

Robin joined us in 2017 and heads up our Plumbing & Heating division, with over 35 years’ experience in the trade. His knowledge and skills have played a key role in the success of the business.

Dave Aitken

Electrical Manager

Electrical Manager Dave has over 10 years experience working in the construction industry as an Electrical Engineer and Site Supervisor. He oversees our team of electricians across all projects and is a firm favourite with our clients.

William Monks

Site Manager

William is a Site Manager with over 35 years’ experience in the industry. His expertise is invaluable to the Group, and he consistently strives to deliver projects to exceed our customers’ expectations.

Derek Gibb

Site Manager

Derek joined the Group in 2016, bringing considerable industry experience having served as a bricklayer for a number of years. He has recently attained his SVQ Level 4 in Site Management & recently delivered one of our most successful projects of 2019.

Katie McGavin

Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Katie joined the Group in February 2018 and is studying towards a degree in Quantity Surveying, while gaining valuable on the job experience. She is an integral part of the commercial team, supporting her colleagues in any way she can.

Emma Mackay

Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Emma is our newest Assistant Quantity Surveyor, starting with the company in June 2019. She is in her first year of studying at university and has quickly become a key team member, supporting our commercial department.

Paul Donachie

Site Supervisor

Paul joined the Group in 2017 as a Joiner and has proved to be a great asset, completing his SVQ Level 3 in Site Supervision and stepping up to his current role in 2018.

David Wilson

Site Supervisor

David joined the team early in 2019, and has already delivered a number of projects in his capacity as Site Supervisor, whilst also providing working support as a Joiner where required to the teams on site.

June Wilson


June is our Office Administrator, and one of our longest-serving team members, responsible for a wide variety of duties and keeping things running smoothly.

Kirsty Gartshore

Finance Assistant

Kirsty is our Finance Assistant and works alongside Hamasah to process invoices and payments, and offer general administrative support to the wider team.
