The project:
Background:
We were invited to the site to meet with our existing client regarding the upgrade and refurbishment of the boardroom and the newly appointed site director’s office. This invitation followed the successful completion of various other projects at the site, including the refurbishment of staff welfare facilities, video conferencing suites, executive meeting rooms, and circulation
spaces.
The project was completed in mid-2024. The client’s direct approach to us to undertake works in such highly visible and significant areas of their facility demonstrates the trust they have in our operatives’ capabilities and professionalism.
We continue to support this valued client across their estate, strengthening our relationship and ensuring their ongoing needs are consistently met with excellence.
Scope of works:
- Comprehensive strip-out of existing finishes.
- Flooring replacements (high-quality carpets, Karndean loose-lay vinyl).
- Wall panel installations (including acoustic cladding).
- Ceiling refurbishments.
- Decorative enhancements.
- Bespoke glazed partition installation in the Site Director’s office.
- Acoustic optimization of the boardroom.
- Enhanced lighting installation.
- Coordination with client’s IT and AV teams for seamless integration.
Challenges:
The renovation of the second floor in an occupied building for a high-profile client required a tailored approach to address unique challenges and ensure successful delivery.
Minimising disruption to ongoing operations was critical, particularly in shared areas such as corridors.
Close collaboration with the client’s in-house IT and Audio Visual teams was pivotal in integrating their systems seamlessly into the renovated spaces. The existing network of electrical, HVAC, and data systems added complexity, requiring precise coordination to ensure compatibility with new installations. Flexibility and clear communication were essential to align construction milestones with IT and AV installation, avoiding delays and ensuring all systems were fully operational.
Throughout the project, professionalism and sensitivity to the client’s expectations remained at the forefront. Careful management of logistics, including material deliveries, waste disposal, and containment of noise and dust, upheld the high standards expected by the client.
