Refurbishment & Fit Out to Create New Office Space

The project:
Background:
We were appointed by the client to carry out an internal fit-out of their new office space located in Prism House, East Kilbride. Recommended by the project architect due to our ability to manage tight timescales (client required to be operating by 6th Jan 2025 (14 weeks from initial meeting to discuss the project), deliver high-quality projects, and our trustworthiness.
We transformed the ground floor of a single-storey commercial building into a modern, functional office space to accommodate various departments and improve overall operational efficiency.
The scope of this project required careful planning and execution to meet the client’s vision while ensuring minimal disruption to the other tenants occupying the building.

Challenges:
One of the most significant challenges was the tight project timescale set by the client. With only 11 weeks to complete the fit-out, efficient project planning and execution were critical.
We implemented a detailed project schedule and maintained close coordination with all stakeholders to ensure the work remained on track.
Another challenge was the client’s initial apprehension about the preferred contractor route. Given the scale and importance of the project, the client wanted assurance that we had the necessary capabilities to deliver high-quality results within the set timeframe. To address these concerns, we provided a comprehensive project programme and outlined our approach to managing risks, quality control, and communication. Regular progress updates and transparent reporting further helped to build trust and alleviate the client’s concerns.
Working with existing building service providers posed an additional layer of complexity. As these providers were not previously known to us, establishing effective communication and collaboration was essential to ensure seamless integration of services. This collaborative effort ensured that the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems were successfully adapted to meet the needs of the new office layout.
Despite these challenges, we demonstrated our ability to manage complex projects in live environments, delivering high-quality results on time and within budget. The project’s success was a testament to our commitment to professionalism, adaptability, and client-focused service.
