Read on for everything we got up to!
Strategic Growth & Board Expansion
Strong growth needs strong foundations, in business as well as construction. As Lochlie enters its next phase of growth, we are delighted to welcome Professor John Anderson to our board!
John brings more than 30 years’ experience helping founder-led and family businesses grow sustainably, combining expertise in entrepreneurship, governance, and strategic leadership. He will work alongside Managing Director Douglas Aitken and our wider leadership team as we continue to strengthen the business, take on larger and more technically demanding projects, and invest in our people.
“Lochlie is an ambitious family business with a strong sense of purpose and a reputation built on quality. The foundations are already in place.” – Professor John Anderson
In further governance news, our Managing Director, Douglas Aitken, has joined the Board of Cairn Housing Association. Douglas brings strong commercial expertise to an organisation dedicated to delivering high-quality services and affordable homes across Scotland as they look ahead to their 2027-2030 business plan.

Project Highlights: Core & Luxury Residential
Our teams have been hard at work delivering exceptional quality across both traditional restorations and bespoke luxury builds:
Bellfield Street, Dennistoun | Reidvale Housing Association: We marked a key milestone at our Bellfield Street project as we successfully removed the temporary structural partition. Led by Site Manager David Wyllie – who is fully qualified and specially trained in temporary works – the operation paved the way for scaffold removal. With Taymore Limited completing a thorough wash-down of the new facade brickwork and our in-house joinery team making great progress reinstating the primary roof structure, the build is progressing brilliantly!
Repeat Client Partnering | New Gorbals Housing Association: We are continuing our strong partnership with NGHA as work progresses at Coburg Street, Glasgow. Restoring traditional sandstone tenements requires expert care, and under the leadership of Site Manager Stuart Kinnear, our core division is combining specialist stone repairs with high-performance fabric upgrades to protect the building while improving energy efficiency for residents.
Luxury Residential Division | Ardura: We wrapped up an incredible journey bringing a bespoke home to life for our Ardura client in Glasgow! The property features dramatic vaulted ceilings throughout the main living areas and upper bedrooms supported by custom solid oak trusses. Externally, natural stone, crisp render, and warm timber cladding blend under a classic slate roof for a striking, timeless finish.

Team Expansion, Qualifications & Culture
Our business is only as strong as our people, and September gave us plenty of reasons to celebrate operational excellence and ongoing development across the company:
Management Team Expansion: Please welcome our newest Supervisor/Joiner, Marc Sandham! Marc brings a wealth of hands-on experience across maintenance, restoration, new builds, and extensions, having stepped into his first management role at 22.
HSEQ Qualification Milestone: Congratulations to our HSEQ Manager, Jonny Renfrew, on attaining his TechIOSH qualification! This milestone recognises the technical knowledge and practical experience required to lead robust health and safety practices across all our sites. We’re proud to support Jonny as he now progresses towards Certified IOSH status.
Supporting Beatson Cancer Charity: We had the privilege of attending the Beatson Ball, supporting the fantastic work they do for patients and families across Scotland. It was a brilliant evening bringing everyone together while raising vital funds for a cause close to our hearts.
Sponsoring the ROCCO Awards: As a contractor committed to driving sustainable building practices, we are honoured to sponsor the Award for Environmental Sustainability at this year’s ROCCO Awards, championing local Renfrewshire businesses leading the way towards a greener future.
