Celebrated Douglas’ 40th Birthday
This month we celebrated our Managing Director, Douglas Aitken‘s 40th birthday! 🎉
We’re raising our hard hats and celebrating Douglas, as he turns 40! 👷♂️His leadership, vision, and passion have been the foundation of everything we’ve built at Lochlie Construction Group.

Step up to Net Zero complete
Last month marked the end of Jude Burton‘s time with us on the Step Up to Net Zero programme.
Jude’s work on baselining our carbon emissions and identifying key sustainability measures has resulted in a comprehensive set of recommendations for our business as we work towards Scotland’s 2045 Net Zero target.
Jude’s final report highlights four core initiatives to help us on our journey:

🚚 Fleet Decarbonisation
🌱 Green Travel Incentives
⛽️ On-site Fuel Hierarchy
We will provide further updates on each of these initiatives as we work through the recommendations within the report!

Congratulations to Eddie Quinn who is our first Employee of the Quarter for 2025!
Eddie was nominated by our management team for his proactive and hardworking attitude to his tasks on site. He can always be relied upon to support his colleagues, and his friendly manner is appreciated across all departments.

Celebrating National Pets Month!
April was National Pet Month, and our team certainly embraced the celebration! We loved seeing all the four-legged (and finned) companions that bring joy to our colleagues. We featured some of the adorable members of the Lochlie family, including:
- Site Manager Gordon Fraser and Blue
- Senior QS Chris Waterfield and Storm
- Molly and Mistry, both belonging to Operations Director David Aitken
- Site Manager Paul Donachie’s furry friend, Echo
- Commercial Assistant Kirsty Gartshore and 2 out of her 7 dogs, Miral & Bellana
- Site Supervisor Graeme Dempsey’s smiley sidekick, Nacho
- Managing Director Douglas Aitken ’ fin’tastic pair, Bluey and Bingo
