A New Chapter: Douglas Aitken Joins Renfrewshire Chamber Board
We’ve got some exciting news to share that truly marks a milestone for Lochlie Construction Group since winning our first ROCCO Award in 2015 for “Outstanding Performing Business with fewer than five staff”!
We are proud to announce that our very own Managing Director, Douglas Aitken, has been appointed to the Board of Directors at the Renfrewshire Chamber of Commerce. This milestone reflects not only how far we’ve come, but also the value of continued engagement within the local business community. It demonstrates how sustained dedication and collaboration can grow into opportunities to share knowledge and experience more widely, supporting fellow members and contributing to the strength of the Chamber as a whole.
Stepping Up to Net Zero: A Resounding Success at Hillington HQ!
We wrapped up a fantastic morning at our Hillington HQ for our “Stepping Up to Net Zero” open house! It was a great opportunity for connection and learning, and we’re thrilled with the turnout.
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us to explore our renewable installations and delve into the practicalities of tackling Net Zero. We thoroughly enjoyed sharing our experience with the Step Up to Net Zero programme and detailing our journey to achieving carbon neutrality.

Introducing Mark! Our Career Ready UK mentee!
We’re absolutely delighted to welcome Mark to the Lochlie Construction team as he begins his four-week paid internship through Career Ready UK! Mark, who is Douglas Aitken’s mentee, joined us at our Hillington office for his induction. He met the team, learned about our work, and got kitted out with his Lochlie workwear and PPE, ready to hit the ground running in this month.
Over the next few weeks, Mark will gain valuable hands-on experience working closely with our experienced electricians in a trade he’s truly passionate about. We wish Mark all the best for a productive internship with us!
Warehouse Transformation complete!
We’re proud to showcase the successful completion of the warehouse transformation for our valued client, Wholesale Domestic Bathrooms in Hillington! What was once an empty warehouse is now a stunning extension of their showroom space.
This project involved:
A full rip-out, including the safe removal of hazardous asbestos.
A complete electrical system fit-out and rewire, featuring the installation of over 400 track lighting fixtures.
Extensive joinery, plumbing, heating, painting, and decoration, all expertly handled by our skilled tradespeople.
Well done to everyone involved and make sure to visit Wholesale Domestic Bathrooms to explore the new showroom!
