Lochlie Construction Group: October 2025 Round Up

Welcome to the October edition of the Lochlie Construction Group Newsletter!

It’s been an incredibly busy and positive month across all areas of the business. We’re thrilled to be growing, with four new members joining the Lochlie family – including a new KTP Associate who will be leading our innovation in AI and automation.

We’re sharing major milestones from our New Gorbals and Balshagray sites, celebrating our team’s recognition as finalists at the Glasgow Business Awards, and showcasing our new partnership on a very “sweet” solar project.

Lochlie Partners with Equi’s Ice Cream on New Solar Project

We are proud to announce we are supporting Equi’s Ice Cream in their sustainability goals. We have been commissioned to install a full solar PV system on their factory, helping to power their production with clean, renewable energy.

We were also delighted to welcome David Equi to our office, who kicked off the partnership in the best way possible – by stocking our freezer full of their delicious ice cream! It was a fantastic treat for the team and a great start to our new working relationship.

We look forward to sharing progress on this green-energy project soon.

Honoured as Finalists at the Glasgow Business Awards

We were delighted to attend the Glasgow Business Awards this month, celebrating the achievements of the local business community.

Lochlie Construction was incredibly proud to be named finalists in two categories:

The Glasgow Business Award for Best Performing Small-Medium Business

The Glasgow Business Award for Net Zero Achievement

While we didn’t take home the top prize this time, being recognised among such strong contenders is a fantastic testament to the hard work and dedication of our entire team.

A massive congratulations to all the very deserving winners and our fellow finalists. Thank you to the Glasgow Chamber of Commerce and all the sponsors for a wonderful evening.

🛠️ Project Updates

New Gorbals Timber Frame Complete!

We’re making fantastic progress at our New Gorbals Housing Association site. Following the successful installation of the steel fire escape frame last month, our team has hit the next major milestone.

We are thrilled to announce that the timber frame is now complete!

With the timber kit now in place, the building is really taking shape. The next step for the team is to begin the brickwork. Great work by everyone on site!

Balshagray for Enable Glasgow

It was great to be on-site at our Balshagray project, which we are delivering for ENABLE Glasgow . Site Manager, Gordon, reports that the project is currently in the busy ‘first fix’ stage.

Our teams are hard at work insulating, plaster-boarding, and installing the first-fix electrical and plumbing for the new kitchens and toilets. The project is progressing well and is on track for its scheduled completion in mid-January.

Meet the New Faces at Lochlie

We are thrilled to give a very warm welcome to four new members who have joined the Lochlie team.

Nigel Campbell joins as our new Small Works Manager, bringing an impressive 40 years of construction experience.

Stuart Kinnear, a joiner by trade, joins as our new Site Supervisor.

David Wyllie steps into the role of Site Manager, adding his diverse background in engineering and the modular building industry.

We also formally introduced Dr. Habib Manzoor, who joins as part of an exciting Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) with the University of the West of Scotland (UWS). Dr. Manzoor will be leading a key project focused on AI and Automation. Innovate UK

We’re delighted to have you all on board!

Congratulations to our Employees of the Quarter!

We were proud to announce our Employees of the Quarter for Q3. A huge well done to both!

Management/Staff: Colin Stirling (Painting & Decorating Manager) Colin earned his award for stepping up during a busy period, managing his team perfectly while also taking on wider site responsibilities.

Onsite Operative: John Cannon (Electrician) John was recognised for his dependable, “can-do” attitude and for consistently going above and beyond on-site.

Thank you both for your outstanding contributions!

Our Fleet Got Greener!

We welcomed the newest addition to the Lochlie fleet – our very first fully electric van, V60 LCG! This is another important step forward in our commitment to reducing our emissions and driving towards a more sustainable, net-zero future. A huge thank you to Key Signs Ltd. for the speedy turnaround on the new signage!

That’s all for our October roundup!

As you can see, it’s an exciting period of growth and progress for Lochlie, and we are immensely proud of the hard work our entire team puts in every day.
